4 Ways To Get More Done in Less Time

I recently listened to a live interview. The gentleman speaking was a business coach. I was intrigued because he and I share a commonality in your personalities, our “WHY” is “better way.” So, as you can imagine, I was interested in his point of view. We shared many similar beliefs about our approach to helping people grow their businesses. He touched on time management and it got me thinking about tools I use to increase my performance. If you’re looking for better ways to manage your schedule and increase your productivity, check out 4 ways I manage my time and energy:

Tip #1 - Filter Your Decisions

I filter my decisions by asking, “Will this action get me closer to my goal?” If not, I abandon the action.

Tip #2 - Chunk Your Time

I chunk my time into like activities. Going back and forth between tasks can take your brain up to 20 minutes to re-engage. That can kill your creativity and productivity if you bounce back and forth all day long.

"IEfficiency is doing things right. Effectiveness is doing the right things." – Peter Drucker

Tip #3 - Be Clear on Your Purpose/Goal

I gain clarity on the task before I get started. Lack of clarity can cause me to procrastinate or grapple with the end result.

Tip #4 - Mix it Up

I match the task with the energy required to get the task completed. Being an introvert, I need to have more energy for sales calls than for copywriting, so I schedule call times when my energy is at its peak. As an entrepreneur, I have found that I need to be intentional and consistent about how I spend my time and the actions I focus on if I’m going to reach my goals. I’d love to hear how you keep yourself on track.
